develop general strategies and specific interventions for improved TB control.
Oversees field operations and the analysis and dissemination of results.
Prerna Gala, MSPH, Global
Coordinator
manages UAB
Coordinating Site and interactions with field sites and funding agencies.
Responsible for contract development and financial monitoring; assists in
project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Vytautas
Jurkuvenas, PhD, Research Associate
is Technical Advisor
to the Kazakhstan and Russia sites; works with partner organizations
to
develop,
implement
and evaluate effective TB control strategies in
the former Soviet Union.
Mayra Arias, MD, MPH,
Research Associate
is Technical Advisor
to the Honduras site; works with national TB programs and other collaborators
in Latin America to develop, implement and evaluate interventions. Provides
technical assistance and monitoring to the Indonesia site.
Phalkun Chheng,
MD, MPH, Project Administrator (Fulbright Fellow)
through funding
from the Gates Foundation, is working with partner organizations in Cambodia
to plan interventions to reduce HIV-related TB.
Ashutosh Tamhane, MD, MSPH, DPH, Research Assistant
coordinates project activities at the UAB site and in field. Assists in project development, implementation, and analysis.
Roza Adilbekova, MD, MBA, Project Administrator
coordinates the project in Almaty city to create a model MDR-TB case management
system.
Thomas Dobbs, MD, MPH, Technical Consultant
provides technical support to the Cambodia project, focusing on TB-HIV training-related issues and operations research.
Ros Sovanna, Research Assistant
assists with the administrative activities and project implementation for the Cambodia project.
