 Gastroenterology & Hepatology Clinical Research Program (GHCRP)

 The Gastroenterology & Hepatology Clinical Research Program (GHCRP) provides research support and management of clinical  

 studies for the UAB basic science & medical research community.  We provide experienced study coordinators, regulatory staff, 

 and financial management personnel that are capable of executing complex clinical research protocols. 

 We have developed a successful model for conducting and managing clinical trials, and we are dedicated to the development of

 new therapies through clinical research. 

 Overview

 The Research Group originated within the UAB Liver Center, where our research efforts were primarily focused in 

 Hepatology related diseases.  However, with recent the addition of Dr. Alexandra Gutierrez (GI) as an Investigator, we have

 expanded our research specialty to include studies in Gastroenterology.  Although we continue to have a close working

 relationship with the UAB Liver Center, we hope to continue to expand the number of Investigators we work with,

 not only in the Division, but in the University as a whole. 

 With the increasing numbers of industry sponsored clinical trials and Investigators interested in participating in these

 studies, the need for experienced clinical study personnel at UAB is in demand. We aim to become a resource to fill this

 need and to be available for all disciplines of research.
