IBD Newsletter
The IBD Newsletter is a monthly e-publication started in 2008 by Alexandra Gutierrez, MD. The purpose of the
newsletter is to highlight a different education topics, while also showing new research developments. Previous
topics include The Epidemiology of IBD and basic science research in new IBD therapies.
The newsletter also provides a brief summary of the clinical trials that are being conducted by Dr. Gutierrez, as
well, as the on going pediatric studies at The Children's Hospital of Alabama. To subscribe to the IBD Newsletter,

Liver Disease Support Group
The UAB Liver Disease Support Group was organized in August 2007, to provide a forum for adult patients with
liver disease to learn more about their condition and to share with other their experiences and frustrations. The
support Group is affiliated with the UAB Liver Center. The groups meets every month on the 2nd Tuesday night
of the month. Meetings are held in the 4th Floor Gastroenterology & Hepatology conference room of the Kirklin
Clinic.

Started in 2008, the Liver Notes is a free Bi-Monthly resource for families and patients living with Liver Disease.
Topics include educational information related to liver related diseases, Liver Disease Support Group information,
